Haunting Howls of a Neurodivergent, Trans-Wolf Writer

Running in the woods
heart racing
cracks in dirt outpacing
fault lines tripping midstride
split me open
send me hurtling
through earth
through myself
with no landing
only binding rope
tightens as i resist:

scratch at the fault
feel only soft dirt
crumble beneath my
claws, not human after all
only borne
only worn

only wolf
relentless torturer embroiders
buried fears
of gone kin
on tan skin
sunlight can't spare me
thoughts slip away
forest's stream
gurgling without meaning

Swept down the river
Hold fast to fallen logs
i've gathered
some out of reach
others keep me afloat
i slide out of this skin
cold plunge jarring
i stop fighting
throat floating
above water line
This raft
grafted body
floats best at rest
this labor of love
built by many hands
even in dark water
remind me
how useful claws can be
